What a treble booster does
A treble booster applies a high-shelf EQ that lifts all frequencies above the chosen cutoff. The result is a brighter, airier sound — useful for dull recordings, muddy mixes, or telephone-quality voice.
When to use it
- +3-6 dB above 6 kHz — add air to vocal recordings
- +6-9 dB above 4 kHz — fix dull podcast audio
- +9-12 dB above 8 kHz — compensate for budget mic roll-off
